STEPH WILLER >> BLOG Friday, May 20 - Costa Rica: Volcán Poás The three amigos (Andrea, David, Myself) took one last adventure together up to Poas Volcano on the Wednesday before we left. It was so cool...literally! We were freezing! But the view was 'so awesome'! Que chiva! We had such a good time! Muchisimas gracias por todo David!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sunday, May 15 - Costa Rica: Friends! A few random pictures thrown together here... The three boys are brothers (Beto, David, Julio) and were so much fun to hang out with! The other shots are in San Jose, pretty much downtown, in the pigeon feeding square. And the last picture is of me and Andrea's last shopping trip to Pali, the supermercado. Priorities - coffee, beer, orange juice!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Friday, May 13 - Costa Rica: Sk8 Culture Costa Rica has a surprisingly huge skateboarding scene. Everywhere you go, there are skaters! So we went to a little neighbourhood skate park with Andrea's cousin and got some shots of the guys there... It was really cool and oddly comforting to find skaters here, just like back home!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Friday, May 13 - Costa Rica: More Snakes! More Snakes! We went to a snake exhibit that had some of the most beautiful serpents I've ever seen! Our friend David took us and we had such a great time together! The last few shots are a beautiful vista of the Costa Rica capital, San Jose, as the evening closed in... Oh Costa Rica, te extraño!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wednesday, May 11 - Costa Rica: Rio Celeste Rio Celeste is a beautiful hike off the beaten path - literally! We rented a car to get there and had a blast driving on Costa Rica highways and off-roading to get to this hike. It's in a rain forest, and yes it rained pretty much the whole time! But the beautiful, clear waterfall and natural hot springs (que rico olió!) was so worth it! Oh, and I hear mud is good for the skin, so that probably didn't hurt either! Oh, and You will always be remembered, Andrea's Rocket Dog shoes!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tuesday, May 10 - Costa Rica: Baldi We went to the natural hot springs at Baldi (close to La Fortuna) and what a treat! It was so beautiful and hot and we got wrinkled like raisins after spending a few hours in the water! They had this great salsa music playing the whole time and amazing waterfalls and scenery. Overall, a great afternoon/evening!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Monday, May 09 - Costa Rica: Snakes!! Our good friends in Costa Rica (the Jimenez Family) have a few Boas as pets and Andrea and I were able to hold them one evening! It was scarier than I thought it would be, but we did it! Oh wow! ;) Thanks David and Beto!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Monday, May 09 - Costa Rica: Mall... A beautiful couch that I saw in a store at the mall in Heredia, Costa Rica (which is nicer than all our malls in Winnipeg!). Also, they had "ice skating" - which was a plastic rink that they would mop to keep smooth! It was so cute and made us laugh!
